As you may know, Popcorn Friday is one of Discovery Booster Club’s larger fundraisers, and it’s a favorite event in the Northridge Elementary community. In the 2016-2017 school year, we had 75% participation with 600+ students receiving freshly popped popcorn one Friday per month! DBC earned more than $2,700 through Popcorn Friday sales.

We need your help to continue Popcorn Fridays at Northridge this year.

While Popcorn Friday is a successful and fun fundraiser, it requires a significant effort to pop, bag and deliver over 600+ bags of fresh hot popcorn each month. Based on feedback from our experienced Discovery parents, Discovery Booster Club is asking every Discovery family to complete 2 Popcorn volunteer shifts this school year. Volunteers may include parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and any other person close to you and your Discovery student.

There are about 100 students in the NRE Discovery program and we have 72 Popcorn Volunteer slots for the entire school year. If every family can complete 2 Popcorn Volunteer shifts, we will have more than enough volunteers to run this very profitable fundraiser.

Email Reminders will be sent to volunteers at least two days in advance. If you are unable make a shift, please find someone to take your shift. Popcorn Friday is a valuable and well-loved tradition at Northridge. It’s also a big fundraiser that helps to support our Discovery teachers and your Discovery students. Please help us support our Discovery program and donate your time to help make Popcorn Friday successful.
