DBC Social Media Manager

The Discovery Booster Club (DBC) of Northridge Elementary is looking for a volunteer to act as our Social Media Manager. This role will help us develop the DBC Facebook Page as the best parent resource to learn about how to find a good educational fit for gifted students, the NRE Discovery Program, and upcoming DBC community events and volunteer opportunities.

This volunteer position is perfect for someone who: 
  • Has a gifted child and supports the NRE Discovery Program 
  • Can commit 1-3 hours each week to creating and managing the DBC Facebook Page
  • Is able to work from home or in the evening hours
  • Actively uses Facebook multiple times during the day 
  • Has previous experience in using or managing Facebook communities
  • Has interest in developing a career in marketing or social media management 

Responsibilities of the Role: 
  • Uses Facebook to promote DBC events and recruit DBC volunteers. 
  • Collaborates with Graphic Designer to create graphics for Facebook posts.
  • Curate a content calendar with posts to share 1-2x per week. 
  • Grow the number of followers and the amount of engagement on our Facebook Page. 
  • Report Facebook statistics and recommend content ideas to the DBC Board.
